cary cosmetics - Beauty by Medical Professionals
Q: Who can benefit from permanent make-up?

A: Permanent make-up is ideal for patients who are unable to apply
cosmetics because of vision problems, arthritis, weakness, paralysis,
tremor, or skin allergies, or for patients experiencing hair loss (alopecia) or
with uneven pigmentation due to scarring.  It is also an excellent choice for
healthy clients who want the convenience of always looking their best,
without the need for frequent re-application of cosmetics.

Q: How is Micropigmentation different from Tattooing?

A: Micropigmentation, permanent makeup and cosmetic tattooing are just
different names for the same procedure.  Micropigmentation is typically
applied to the face or areola, which are very sensitive, delicate areas that
require specialized equipment and different techniques than body tattoos.

Q: Does cosmetic tattooing hurt?

A: There is some discomfort involved when the needle places the pigment in the
skin.  Because cosmetic tattooing generally involves sensitive areas, we use
topical anesthetics to numb the skin and minimize any discomfort.  To
achieve optimal results, we prefer that the client is comfortable and able to
remain still during the procedure, so adequate analgesia is very important
to us, and we will make every effort to ensure your comfort.

Q: How long will micropigmentation last?

A: The subtle and natural colors used on the face do fade over time, and
periodic maintenance and touch-ups may be required for best results.  Sun
exposure may also lighten pigment prematurely (and cause premature
wrinkles!) so we encourage the use of sunscreen, hats and sunglasses to limit
UV damage and keep your skin looking its best.  Salt water and chlorine can
also lighten skin pigment.  Touch-ups usually take less time than the initial
procedure, and are typically needed at 2 to 4 year intervals.

Q: How long will my procedure take?

A: This depends on the body area involved and the extent of pigment desired.  A
lash enhancement of the upper lids only can be completed in approximately
45 minutes; upper and lower lids may take 60 minutes.  Lip liner and
fill-in color is 90 minutes.  Scar camouflage varies depending on the
location and size of the scar; a free consultation is recommended beforehand
to discuss your aesthetic goals and create a personalized treatment plan.

Medical and cosmetic tattooing is an art; each client requires individual
attention to ensure symmetry and natural-appearing detail.  Procedure
times may vary depending upon your cosmetic needs, overall skin health,
and specific outcomes desired.  All procedures may require a touch-up 6
weeks post-procedure to ensure uniformity of color and ideal results.  There
is no additional charge for the 6-week touch-up.

Q: How long is the healing process?

A: After your procedure, you may experience mild tenderness, redness or
swelling which can last up to 48 hours.  Cool compresses and anti-
inflammatory medications (ibuprofen) will help to reduce the swelling.
Color will appear darker on the skin immediately after cosmetic tattooing,
but during the healing process the color will soften and lighten to a more
natural-appearing shade.  You will be able to return to your usual activities
immediately after the procedure, although you should not submerge your
tattoo site in water or use any topical lotion not recommended by your
micropigmentation specialist - some products will actually draw the color
back out of the skin before it has fully healed.

Q: How much does Micropigmentation cost?

A: Cost varies depending on the complexity of the procedure, the time required,
and the unique characteristics of the client's skin.  Please visit our Procedures
page for a detailed price list of all the services we offer.  Cost typically ranges
     from $200-$500.

Q: What type of equipment and Micropigment products do you use?

A: We use a Harmonix digital tattoo machine, which is state-of-the technology
for applying micropigmentation gently and precisely.  The Harmonix
machine is ideal for the Dixon slope micropigmentation technique, which
places color into the skin more evenly than traditional tattooing.
We have selected Premier and Kolorsource pigments because they are both
well-established companies with a long history of safety, and they offer a
wide variety of natural-appearing, hypoallergenic, long-lasting colors to
ensure a soft, natural appearance.  Micropigments are regulated by the FDA.

Q:What is Dry Needling /(MCA)?

A: Dry Needling is a technique used with a Slope Needle (without pigment) that
disrupts the skin surface by creating inflammation and irritation.  Your skin
is stimulated to increase collagen production at the site, decreasing the
appearance of wrinkles.  The results are amazing!  Excellent for forehead
lines, crows feet, smoker's lines,  laugh lines, stretch marks, as well as
traumatic and surgical scars. This procedure is scheduled in sessions,
scheduled 4 weeks apart, but some wrinkles may require up to 2-3 sessions.

Q:How many session will my Hair reduction take?

A: Laser Hair Reduction takes approximately 4-6 sessions.  Each session takes
     approximately 30 minutes.

Q: Is Laser Hair removal painful?

A: Laser Hair removal is vitually painless.  In areas that are more sensitive,
prescription strength topical anesthetics can be applied.

Q: How quickly will I see results from Skin Tightening?

A: Skin Tightening results can be seen in as little as 24 hours.  This Laser
procedure is great for crows feet, laugh lines, and works extremely well for
     stretch marks.
